Moonshell Bay

A slice of paradise.

Moonshell Bay

Moonshell Bay is a peaceful, ocean front, guest bedsitting room with a private entrance and outside space of its own. The self-catering suite is tastefully decorated with private bath, cooking utensils, bar fridge and outside “camp kitchen” and BBQ.

Large view windows offer stunning views of the Sabine Channel, Texada Island, passing cruise ships, fishing boats and freighters taking supplies to Alaska. A two-flight staircase will have you on the beach in minutes. Stop on the second landing for a chairside view of beautiful sunsets and perhaps a chance glimpse of “Barnie” (our local harbor seal) out for his evening cruise. Our two resident eagles perch almost daily on a large fir tree in the corner of the bay.

This is a serene and quiet place, ideal for someone to reacquaint with nature, read, or simply reboot your spirit.

We recommend bringing mountain bikes (off island rentals available) and we encourage kayakers to enjoy our accommodation to explore the many small island groups surrounding Lasqueti Island.

This is an opportunity to have an off the grid experience (in comfort) while learning that “living off the grid” takes planning, hard work, patience, and a respect for the environment. Please note, the space is not heated so it is only available during warm months. Learn a little about a tight knit community and the amazing, yet essential, support systems in place through the generosity of its people.

Guest Access

The lower space is completely available for our guests with a sloping walkway and a two landing stair case to the private beach.

Getting Around

We are subject to "foot" ferry availability and all guests must check the Lasqueti ferry schedule before booking accommodations. We will meet your ferry and transport you and/or your gear if you have bikes. Our Island does not have a transport service but "Thumbing" is a friendly way to get around as most people will stop. We recommend renting bikes (off Island) to make it easier to get around.

Interaction with Guests

We are available to help our guests understand the off the grid experience and answer their questions regarding our island and community. We completely respect our guests privacy and the lower space and beach area is theirs to enjoy without interruption.

Other Things to Note

We are off the grid and so power is limited. Although our island is remote, we have "Provisions", a wonderful general store, bakery and café , a restaurant/pub and Saturday summer market are also available. We recommend bringing grocery supplies as these locations are 6 Km from our home. Please contact us for further details.
